Jody B. Menge
Our
wonderful Jodu passed from this life in October of 2007, this page is a tribute
to an outstanding woman who loved Montana with her whole heart. We love
and miss you, Jody.
History:
Jody is a 4th
generation Montanan, raised on a ranch near
Saco
, Mt. She earned a
Bachelor of Arts degree from the
School
of
Art
at MSU/Bozeman in l983. She regularly participates in
many shows and auctions; including the
Montana
Cowboy
Poetry Gathering, Western Heritage Artists Show,
Blackfoot
Valley
Art
Show &
Auction, Spirit of the West Show, and has been a featured artist for
Pheasants
Forever and Walleyes Unlimited. Her work is included in the permanent collection
of the Federal Reserve Bank in
Helena
,
MT
and is in collections across
the
United States
,
Canada
, and
Japan
. Jody was accepted into the
Western Heritage Artist Association in l999 and is also a member of the
Academy
of
Western Artists
.
Subject
Matter & Media: Jody is
primarily a painter, currently working in gouache (opaque watercolor), but also
has worked in oil, acrylic, and other media. She paints primarily wildlife and
scenery, heavily influenced by her time spent in the
Montana
outdoors. She paints not only
on canvas and illustration board, but also on found objects such as animal
skulls and bones and tree fungus; incorporating objects from nature as part of
her imagery.
